Galata Bridge over the Golden Horn, Istanbul, March 2012

Different views of the Galata Bridge spanning the Golden Hor, an inlet of the Bosporus River, in Istanbul. In the background of the first two images is Galata Tower near the Beyoglu neighborhood of the city. This 14th Century tower was built to help protect the city's Genoese colony. The Ottomans later used it to spot fires.
